Purpose of the Job

The Accounts Officer will be responsible for timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of all finance documents in accordance with ZINARA Standard Operating Procedures. The incumbents report to Financial Controllers and will be based in Bulawayo. Responsibilities

1. Generating, preparing, presenting, detailed daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly management reports
2. Come up with variance analysis reports for all revenue streams and recommend timely action on all negative variances
3. Actively participate in annual budget preparations
4. Produce various qualitative & quantitative reports and timeous distribution of same to departmental managers
5. Carries out day to day supervision of Accounts Clerks
6. Supervises data capturing of vehicle licensing, Tolling, transit, Fuel levy in the system
7. Reviews weekly and monthly commission computation
8. Checks reconciliation of cash up summaries daily
9. Safekeeps revenue collections awaiting banking
10. Co-ordinates banking and receipting processes
11. Carries out first level review of accounting journals
12. Carries out first level review of payment processing
13. Carries out revenue and bank reconciliations as per SOP
14. Liaises with Zinara agents for-Vehicle Licensing, Tolling, Transit, Fuel levy
15. Carries out petty cash reconciliation
16. Carries out any other duties that may be delegated by line management.

Qualifications

• 5 O’ Levels including English and Maths/Accounts
• 2 A’ Levels passes or equivalent
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Studies.

Experience

• Proven two years of supervisory experience in an accounting department
• Part CIMA/ACCA.

Responsibilities

1. Calendar Management: Organising and managing the Director's Diary, including scheduling meetings, conferences, appointments, and deadlines related to the Directors Office
2. Communication Handling: Screening and managing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication on behalf of the Director and also ensuring timely responses and information flow
3. Documentation & Filing: Maintaining and organizing important documents, records, and files related to the Director’s Office
4. Meeting Coordination: Scheduling and coordinating all meeting on the Director’s calendar through preparing for the meetings, communicating agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items
5. Expense Management: Managing expenses related to the Director’s office, such as processing invoices, tracking budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedure
6. Travel Arrangements: Making travel arrangements for the Director through booking flights, accommodations, and transportation for business trips
7. Confidentiality: Maintaining the confidentiality of all information and documents in the Directors Office
8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of finance related issues
9. Any other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

• 5 O’ Levels including English and Maths/Accounts
• 2 A ‘Levels or Equivalent
• Diploma in Secretarial Studies
• Degree in Accounting/Finance or any related field is an added advantage.

Experience

• At least 2 years related experience in a similar environment.
